Another month, another milestone. With our August release of PUSH.demandForJustice, and with the help of our many talented contributors, we have proudly created 15 collective projects to date. Equally fitting, the emotionally charged compilation celebrates the visible changes taking place all over America, regarding the ongoing movement in support of civil rights for people from all different walks of life. As the world of sports battles to establish the new benchmark for what professional entertainment will look like, players have displayed solidarity and provided reminders of the causes that the people at large strive to enact. Provocative and unapologetic, PUSH.demandForJustice shares that same sentiment with pointed words that delve head first into the courageous and uncomfortable conversations required to fuel systematic reform.

Aptly timed and arguably more important, the folks behind PUSH.audio have very recently launched PUSH.equality; an initiative aimed squarely at the establishment of an unbiased, melting pot type workspace/ecosystem in both the cyber realm and eventually in brick & mortar facilities. We decided to construct a space that fosters acceptance of and supports the observance of basic human rights, commonly being denied to persons in situations beyond their control. Our goal is to focus on education and outreach via whatever means are available to us due to the ever-changing world at present. There are plenty of clever cliches about women in circulation; many of which are dated by small-minded thinking and therefore obsolete in today’s social structure. Concepts that suggest traditional gender roles and place largely subservient obligations on women no longer apply and frankly, they never did. Women throughout history have battled to be represented and to have their voices heard. From voting rights, to salary gaps, to making very personal decisions about their own bodies, these struggles are ongoing. So this time around, the ladies are speaking for themselves! Powerful, unfiltered, unapologetic, empowering; PUSH.queendom is ladies to the front with all eyes and ears on you. A diverse cast of female MCs with swagger driven pontificating over hip-hop backdrops is long overdue, and this composition of music fills that void. Homage is paid to trailblazers that opened doors in the beginning, as the ladies take center stage to adjust their crowns. Their stories, their opinions, their existence; in their own words. This is PUSH.queendom.

People plan and God laughs, right? The PUSH.audio team made the necessary decision to delay the formal release of PUSH.sunshine due to the events that have and that continue to unfold within communities across the nation. We took the position that a project with feel good vibes and warm weather enjoyment suggestions infused throughout was irresponsible and insensitive in a time where people collectively were either mourning, dealing with COVID-19 fallout, or both. We acknowledge that there is still an incredible amount of work to be done and our sincere condolences go out to the families of those lost to both the pandemic and gratuitous violence. As we persevere in the fights that loom ahead and surge towards recovery & reform, we offer PUSH.sunshine, not in an attempt to gloss over the critical tasks ahead, but as a reminder that brighter days are possible. The Supreme Court decision levied in favor of the LGBTQ+ community and their fight for equality in the workplace, is a very clear indication that change is not only plausible, but attainable and necessary!
