Esbie Fonte’s music bears witness to the world through a Venus filtered lens. She produces using found sound from the environments her songs are inspired from. Some of these captured sounds have been from public transportation, nature, and bubble baths. Her music is created with transcendental visions that inspire cinematography. Her artistic messages veer political and tap into collective empathy surrounding world events.
Esbie attended a performing arts school in San Francisco and started learning how to write, perform, and produce drawing inspiration from jazz, 1960s songwriters, and fog drenched cinematic soundscapes. The interweaving of anthropological art became further realized after a cinematography class at Sarah Lawrence that allowed Fonte to amalgamate her music and global passions into short videos.
Fonte began touring Europe during her year abroad at a Music Conservatory in Cornwall, England, where she played local pubs and tuned her production chops. Upon moving to LA a year later, she met current bandmate, Pete Tilley by chance at a Guitar Center. Since that fated day, Tilley and Fonte have played festivals and toured throughout the West Coast.
